Discover more than 100 malicious software exploiting the WinRAR vulnerability

Last month, I discovered a loophole that had existed since the first day it was launched 19 years ago that allows hackers to deploy their malicious software to users' machines. The company has worked to close the vulnerability, but this has not stopped the spread of the second wave Of malware.

Check Point revealed the vulnerability for the first time, and explained today how hackers use the program by giving it to their malware so when these files are opened and decompressed, malware is automatically deployed.

She explained that the installation of malware in the autorun folder to run with each operation of the computer without the user's knowledge.

The problem is that when the vulnerability was discovered, the hackers had already begun exploiting it for their benefit, with international piracy campaigns aimed at gathering intelligence.

Today McAfee Security & Protection has discovered that there are more than 100 malicious hackers and methods that can be used by hackers to take advantage of WinRAR's security flaws, most of which target the United States.

Because the program does not have the automatic update feature, the latest and most secure version 5.70 released at the end of last January has not been downloaded and installed by most of the more than 500 million users of the program.
